The Casselberry Recreation Center, located at 200 N. Triplet Lake Drive, will feature its Annual Recycled Art Show April 18 – 30, 2016. The free exhibit, sponsored by The City of Casselberry and The Rotary Club of Casselberry, will be open Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Local artists will display unique sculptures and wall art creations using recycled or repurposed materials. Many artists consider recycled art as a perfect medium to exemplify their expression for the need to recycle. Anything goes at this exhibit that includes two- and three-dimensional works, including but not limited to: paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, pottery, collage, metalwork and stonework. At least 50 percent of each piece of artwork is recycled (discarded/found) materials man-made or organic, including but not limited to: wood, metal or stone, glass, paper, fabric, pottery and plastic. There will also be an “ECOUTURE Runway Show,” featuring wearable recycled clothing and accessories that are both environmentally-conscious and beautiful. During Earth Fest 2016 on April 30, the Casselberry Recreation Center will host the “ECOUTURE Runway Show,” and Artist Reception from 12:45 p.m. – 4 p.m. Artists will be on hand to talk about their art and answer questions. Light refreshments will be served, and there will be awards and cash prizes given.
