As the LPGA Tour’s season opening event, the second annual Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions will feature LPGA winners from the 2018 or 2019 seasons competing alongside a roster of celebrity golfers, Jan. 16-19, at Tranquilo Golf Course at Four Seasons Golf and Sports Club Orlando in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The LPGA champions will play four days of stroke play (no cut) for $1.2 million in official prize money, while the top-tier celebrity participants compete for a separate $500,000 purse, utilizing a modified Stableford scoring format. Threesomes may include a combination of LPGA professionals and celebrities, and some with all LPGA players or all celebrities. The tournament will be televised on Golf Channel and NBC on Jan. 16-19. LPGA players must have won an official Tour event in 2018 or 2019 to qualify. Firm commitments will be announced at a later date. The celebrity field is by invitation.
